WCPD: Check Mysterious Bullet on Loading Dock

Also, someone erasing a company's computer files and other nefarious, even criminal acts reported to the Walnut Creek police from March 16 to March 18.

March 16
Timber … Reported to Walnut Creek police at 2:11 a.m., a vehicle hit and felled a tree on the 200 block of North Civic Drive. A witness saw the vehicle northbound on the southbound side of the road. The witness thought it was a grey or gold SUV that fled the scene with front-end damage. Police are investigating.

How annoying? 2 a.m. annoying. Some rang the bell at a Pacer Place residence six times around 2:20 a.m. All the while the motion light was going on and off. The resident asked over the intercom who it was. There was no answer. Officers checked the area and failed to locate this annoying person.

Mystery with a bullet. At 5:07 p.m., an employee of a business on the 1300 block of South California Boulevard found a discharged bullet on the loading dock. Investigating officers found no property damage or evidence of a crime.

March 17
Dangerous. Officers investigated a 5:30 p.m. report of a party on the third floor of a building in the 1600 block of North California Boulevard. Someone was throwing full beer or soda cans out the window, and one almost struck a child walking past.

Hastily arranged radar surveillance. Because an accident around 7:20 p.m. on I-680 diverted traffic onto Rudgear Road and other Walnut Creek streets, WCPD had multiple reports of speeding in the area and set up traffic surveillance via radar at Rudgear and Lavender. "No egregious violations observed," officers reported.

March 18
Slander? Reported at 8:21 a.m., someone was in front of a school on Walnut Boulevard, holding a sign that the reporting party felt was slanderous about a teacher. Officers contacted the reporting party and the sign-toter, determined there was no crime and the sign-toter left the area.

Computer retaliation. Officers advised a company on Ygnacio Valley Road about what to do about their suspicions that an ex-employee was erasing files from the company computer. The district attorney's office was advised, as well.
