WCPD: Multiple Burglaries & Attempts

Also, busting out of a parking garage without paying a buck and other bold and sometimes criminal behavior reported to Walnut Creek police from April 11 and April 12.

April 11
One buck. Around 3:30 p.m., a man in a white Jeep objected to a $1 parking fee at a garage in the 1900 block of North California Boulevard and drove through the garage toll arm. Walnut Creek police officers determined to be a civil matter.

Abandoned bike. Reported at 2:32 p.m., a "little girls bike" was parked in the street leaning against the curb on Rudgear Road at Cardigan Court with no kids in the area. Officers retrieved the bike and made a report.

Car lock forced. Reported at 6:19 p.m., a Honda Accord parked on the second floor of a garage in the 1100 block of Locust Street was broken into with the door lock punched. A MacBook Pro and a wallet were stolen.

Car vs. bus stop sign. Reported at 22:45 p.m., a citizen noticed a "possible DUI driver" in a tan Dodge pickup strike and knock down a bus stop sign. The pickup was eastbound on Treat Boulevard at Carriage Drive. Officers were unable to locate the tan pickup.

April 12
Three window smashes. Reported in the late morning, three cars on the 1500 block of Oakland Boulevard reported window smash burglaries, with a purse lost from one and an empty suitcase in the street next to an SUV.

Burglary attempt. Reported at 11:31 a.m., two locks to a white Ford pickup were punched and the owner was unable to get into his truck. The burglar apparently failed to get into the truck in a back lot adjacent to Highway 680 on the 2800 block of North Main Street.

Credit cards used. Reported at 1:23 p.m., a car on Heather Drive was broken into and credit cards were removed from the wallet and the wallet left behind in the morning. Later in the day, one of the credit cards was used to buy a laptop in Pleasant Hill, and another attempt to buy iPads in Pleasant Hill.
