WCPD: 'Whoops — I Forgot to Pay!'

Also, paintballers, pot busters and assorted miscreants reported to the Walnut Creek police from March 2 to March 5.

March 2
Please lock your car. Reported to Walnut Creek police at 1:52 a.m., a wallet and iPad were stolen from an unlocked Dodge at the theater garage on Locust Street.

Replica firearm on trail. Reported at 6:53 a.m., a replica firearm was found on the canal trail at Heather Farm Park. It was booked into WCPD property.

Small, mysterious misdemeanors. On Farmhill Court at 12:33 p.m., a resident report someone entered an unlocked vehicle and tried to shift the transmission to neutral, and left behind toothpicks and paper clips.

Rocks and windows. Reported at 9:53 p.m., police were looking for juveniles on bikes who threw a rock threw a storefront window on the 1600 block of Olympic Boulevard.

March 3
Missing bumper. At 1:47 a.m., a 34-year-old woman was arrested on a charge of public intoxication after a report that her Prius had run over a curb in a parking lot on Locust Street. A bumper was missing on the car, police reported.

Pot busters on video. Reported at 3:31 a.m., police are investigating a Broadway Plaza video showing a couple of teenagers kicking a flower pot into a fountain, breaking it. The plants died, police reported.

Christmas still? Officers advised both parties in a 9:39 a.m. dispute in which an Newell Hill Place apartment dweller was hurt by a Christmas tree falling from the third-floor apartment above.

March 4
Paintballer: At 12:59 a.m., a paintballer splatted a car from the Minert  Road pedestrian bridge. Officers were unable to locate the paintballer.

Lock your car, please. At 9:15 a.m., police took a report of an unlocked Toyota Camry rifled and missing sunglasses, gift cards and change.

Where did I park? A man reported his red Toyota Camry stolen from Trinity Avenue but an investigation revealed he had parked it at Shuey and Bonanza.

Found teenager. Police were just about to enter a report of a missing daughter into a missing persons registry when the daughter returned home to Carmel Drive.

If you dine and dash, wear a less distinctive color. At 10:43 p.m., a restaurant on Mount Diablo Boulevard reported that a woman in jeans and pink long-sleeve shirt walked out on a bill and headed for Nordstrom. Officers arrested a 29-year-old woman for the theft.

March 5
Raccoons, cats and lights. A woman on San Benito Drive was out in the backyard with a flashlight at about 3:20 a..m, shooing raccoons who were bothering her cat. A neighbor saw the mysterious lights in the backyard and called police.

Skate ramp. At 3:27 p.m., police were investigating a report that someone had brought about 25 bags of concrete by wheelbarrow to the creek ravine at Newell Avenue and South California Boulevard. It looks like they were building a skate ramp.

Lots of drugs. At 5:41 p.m., police arrested a 33-year-old man for the theft of $8,500 in drugs from a pharmacy in the 1800 block of North Main Street.

How about you research the current ADA guidelines regarding surface materials for play areas?Read More Walnut Creek is simply acting to be in compliance. Not sure where you get the idea that wood chips are "much more dangerous".
