Woman Attacked in Parking Garage, Fends Off Attacker

A woman fought off a would-be attacker Wednesday night in the Broadway Plaza parking garage.

According to the Walnut Creek police, a woman was returning to her car at 8:50 p.m. Wednesday, which was parked in the parking garage near Nordstrom. A Hispanic man described as about 18 years old, 5 feet 4 inches tall, with short dark hair, wearing a baseball cap and a black and white zip-up hooded sweater, came up behind her and tried to put his hand in her purse.

The woman managed to hold on to her purse, and the approach of another woman scared the attacker off. The woman kept her purse, and was unharmed. The man ran away down a stairway. 

The man's image was captured on a surveillance camera.
