City Looks For Residents To Serve On Shadelands Committee

Taking a look at the future of the 25-acre Safeway parcel at Ygnacio Valley and Oak Grove roads.

The city of Walnut Creek is seeking three residents to step up and serve on an advisory committee to explore land uses and draft a specific plan of development for .

This is part of the Shadelands Business Park. It is owned by Safeway. Safeway officials appeared before the City Council in August, saying Safeway would like to a build a state-of-the-art supermarket there, twice as big as across Ygnacio Valley Road.

The advisory committee is a topic of discussion for the Woodlands Association, representing residents in the area.
