Updated 9:10 a.m. Wednesday, added information about restaurant developers.
Soon, an upscale seafood restaurant may surf the turf at the Martinez Marina.
On the agenda of the Martinez City Council Wednesday is an application for Delmonico's Inc. to build an 8,500-square-foot restaurant on Tarrantino Drive. The application to the city is from local restaurateurs Tony LoForte and Dino Gerosolimo, who are applying under the name Delmonico's Inc.
It's proposed for the same location as the Albatross and Captain Blythers Restaurant, which was demolished more than a decade ago, according to a staff report by Dina Tasini, the city's contract project manager (attached to this article as a PDF).
On the city's agenda is:
- a possible option to sublease to Delmonico's Inc. and
- a resolution to transfer $40,000 from the general fund to the Marina Enterprise Fund to complete California Environmental Quality Act documents for the project.
The council meets in a closed session at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, followed by a public session at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Senior Center, 818 Green St.
