Wow, a lot of xenophobia here. I guess most of you forgot that your ancestors were immigrants, and only because America decided the immigration of white people was acceptable and legal. I think it's funny that everyone is so concerned about undocumented residents being a drain on the economy, when in fact they take the jobs that nobody wants and contribute billions to California's economy each year. Oh and they STILL pay taxes.... more in taxes than most corporations, like Apple, for instance.

Immigration is a very complex legal and economic issue. It is easy to view it all at a very high level and depersonalize it into "millions here, millions there" or "crimes committed." But I applaud Obama for seeing this as ultimately an issue of individuals and their families. He picked the category of people with the most promising futures and the least culpability for their situation and simply did the right thing.

I'm sorry you're so xenophobic. It's pretty sad. Some undocumented residents work off the books, yes. However, the majority of them pay income taxes. Then there are also sales tax (obviously can't avoid that one) and property tax. And when a company like GE not only pays ZERO taxes, but gets $3.2 billion in tax credits, you might want to rethink who you're complaining about. If you are so concerned they are a drain on the system, maybe we should give them social security numbers! Problem solved.
