Poll: Who Do You Like in Governors' Spat?

New Jersey Gov. Christie said Jerry Brown was a 'retread.' The senior citizen retread challenged Christie to a three-mile race or a chin-up contest.

Sometimes politics resembles a seventh-grade food fight.

To wit: At the Republican National Convention, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie gave California Gov. Jerry Brown the back of his hand by saying, "California made a bad choice by going with an old retread," the Huffington Post reported.

Brown, a Democrat, got back at Christie, a Republican. At a union meeting on Friday, Brown made fun of his age and loss of hair, and then challenged Christie — whose shape reminds political historians of William Howard Taft — to a three-mile race, a push-up contest or a chin-up contest. "Whatever he wants to bet, I have no doubt of the outcome," Brown said.

At the risk of encouraging seventh-grade behavior, Patch had no doubt that this was cause for a Patch poll.

Since the media around here is 100% liberal/socialist, I suppose the knee jerk reactionary bay area people are going to side with their party (gang). It would be nice to meet others who can see right through the BS that the hard left spews 24 hours a day in the bay area- no balance. Don't bother to bash Republicans, they have no say. Everything around here is one party goose step. They then blame others when the cities fall into third world decay, decline, and bankruptcy.

There should be a fifth choice: Both of you are embarrassing and should shut up! As we watch high-level politicians kick dirt at one another, in an attempt to bottom troll for public support stupid enough to enjoy such snippy rhetoric -- is it any wonder that increasingly the American public has little confidence in either side of the aisle? I think the correct answer is: Both should just shut up. Apparently, that's their best and the most we could hope for. As a teenager, 37 years ago, I went to a national convention involving people in party hats with balloons whose mission was to nominate the next potential leader of the free world. When they refer to themselves as a PARTY, they aren't kidding.

The “California Teachers Association” they could care less about the children. Don’t be ignorant; don’t be fooled by their political ads. Here are just a few things you should read before you believe them when they say “it’s about the children” http://www.sacbee.com/2012/08/30/4770521/teacher-evaluations.html http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10000872396390444443504577601664135014368.html http://www.publicsectorinc.com/forum/2012/08/one-win-one-loss-as-californias-legislative-session-closes.html http://unionwatch.org/how-government-unions-intimidate-corporations/ http://spectator.org/archives/2012/08/29/a-tale-of-two-jerrys http://airmodal.com/2012/09/01/chutzpah-on-steroids/ http://www.city-journal.org/2012/cjc0716ls.html http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/opinion-la/la-ol-sand-prop32-blowback-20120824,0,2890404.story http://articles.latimes.com/2012/aug/18/local/la-me-cta-20120819 http://www.city-journal.org/2012/22_2_california-teachers-association.html http://www.joannejacobs.com/2012/08/teachers-unions-go-on-the-defensive/ http://www.wcvarones.com/2012/08/guest-post-california-teachers-union.html

Yes, I detest parties, I have never been either. I'm glad to hear others here understand how dangerous the California Teachers Union is. We have the old, recycled hippy moon beam governor to thank for that last time around. Also the sick man outright supports male genital mutilation. All those who are against child molestation better stop this tragic, perverted ritual. You wouldn't do this to your girls would you? Then don't do it to anyone!

Though I'm a great supporter of our military, it isn't a qualifier for governorship or the presidency (in response to R-West). Do your 'due diligence' and you'll quickly learn that great leaders like Reagan, Lincoln, and many others like them had no military experience. Are you saying the only qualified government is one run by the military such as North Korea, Egypt, and so on?

JBN... Word of advice. "All those against Child Molestation?" I'd re-phrase that comment in a heart beat because it sends out the wrong message. Are you a supporter of the crime?

Christie couldn't WALK three football fields without several breaks. Clint Eastwood punking the GOP heirarchy.....now THAT was a Party!

What would you call strapping a newborn down and cutting off 1/3 of his genitals AGAINST his will and without his consent? Still about 1 million boys a year are subjected to this for no reason except for sick rituals. Jerry Brown ordered that no one can stop this and that anyone can mutilate a boys genitals and will not be held responsible. Either we start doing this to girls vagina's for "equal rights" or how about not molesting any newborn's body?
