Poll: Who Do You Like in Governors' Spat?
New Jersey Gov. Christie said Jerry Brown was a 'retread.' The senior citizen retread challenged Christie to a three-mile race or a chin-up contest.
Sometimes politics resembles a seventh-grade food fight.
To wit: At the Republican National Convention, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie gave California Gov. Jerry Brown the back of his hand by saying, "California made a bad choice by going with an old retread," the Huffington Post reported.
Brown, a Democrat, got back at Christie, a Republican. At a union meeting on Friday, Brown made fun of his age and loss of hair, and then challenged Christie — whose shape reminds political historians of William Howard Taft — to a three-mile race, a push-up contest or a chin-up contest. "Whatever he wants to bet, I have no doubt of the outcome," Brown said.
