Quick End to Jeff Pickett's Candidacy
Would-be council candidate says he lives outside the Walnut Creek city limits.
A potential City Council candidacy has come and gone quickly.
Jeff Pickett, an investment banker who took out nomination papers a week ago from the city clerk, wrote in a Friday email that he would not run for council as he has determined in discussions with City Clerk Suzie Martinez that his Miramonte Road house is outside the city limits.
incumbents Bob Simmons and Kish Rajan have announced they are running again. Also up is the seat of incumbent Gary Skrel, who is undecided on running again. Challenger Barry Grove has said he will run for council.
