City unveils application that allows drivers to find parking spaces on their mobile devices
Technology that can help you find parking spaces in Walnut Creek is now in the palm of your hand.
City officials have unveiled a parking app for mobile devices that assists drivers in finding a parking space close to their destination.
The ParkMe application can find spaces on the streets or in garages or lots. It can also calculate how much a driver will have to pay when they're finished.
Drivers can download the app for free from their iPhone or Android phone and can access the map online at http://www.parkme.com/walnut-creek-ca-parking.
The application may come in handy soon. City leaders are considering raising parking meter rates from $1 to $2 and increasing the meters' hours of operation.
