Walnut Creek's PACs: Who Are They?

These are the committees now operating in Walnut Creek that can receive contributions and raise money to support or oppose various candidates and causes.

In addition to the newly formed Walnut Creek Police Association Political Action Committee, Walnut Creek has other "general purpose committees" operating in town. These committees are "not primarily formed" to support or oppose a candidate or measure.

  • WALPAC, or Walnut Creek Political Action Committee, which was formed in 1985 as a general purpose committee sponsored by the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce.
  • Democrats of Rossmoor, a committee comprised of small contributors.
  • Yes for Walnut Creek, which was formed in 2009 as a ballot measure committee to support Measure I, the Neiman Marcus decision. In July 2010, the committee repurposed itself as a general purpose committee.
