2011 County Supervisorial Redistricting Workshops

The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors are redrawing their districts. For Walnut Creek, this is especially critical. We're the only city currently in more than one district; we're in three.

On May 12, Redistricting Workshop locations and Supervisors leading them were published for 13 sites.  Supervisors Uilkema, Piepho and Mitchoff each currently have a part of Walnut Creek. The supervisors have scheduled these public workshops to talk about redrawing their district lines

Every ten years after the U.S. Census, state law requires the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors to redraw supervisorial district boundaries to reflect population changes to assure near equal population in each of the five supervisorial districts.

Workshops of relevance to Walnut Creek residents will be Monday, May 16 in the Tice Valley Gym, 2-3:30 p.m and the Walnut Creek Library's Oak View Room, 7-8:30 p.m.;  and  Tuesday, May 17, 7-8:30 p.m in the City of Pleasant Hill Community Room, respectively.
