What's The Oldest Home For Sale In Walnut Creek?

Check out this vintage four-bedroom home built before 1900.

There's an old saying, "They don't make 'em like they used to."

With that in mind, we thought on this week's real estate installment we'd look at the oldest home we could find for sale in Walnut Creek.

This one is a four-bedroom, three-bathroom house at 1835 Weaver Lane. The two-story Queen Victorian farmhouse with an au pair cottage was built in 1880.

It sits on almost two acres with a four-car garage. The home is listed as selling for $1.2 million.

You can check out other older nearby homes on Concord Patch and Pleasant Hill Patch.

I have always loved this home! Even when the tweakers lived there a few years ago, it still looked ominous but very cool. So glad the new owners fixed it and the grounds up. Does anyone know the story of the original family who lived there? Rose, think? There are "R's" on the iron gates leading into the property. Very Austenian.
