The Walnut Creek School District is asking parents of children who turn 5 between Nov. 2 and Dec. 2, 2012, to call the district office, (925) 944-6850. They can also check this web link for pre-registration.
With the passage of the state budget, transitional kindergarten has been approved and will be offered in WCSD, according to a district announcement.
California is in the midst of changing the rules for birthday dates that govern who qualifies for kindergarten. The transition is taking place over several years. The state Department of Education has posted answers to frequently asked questions about the process.
