CSU Exec Pay Policy is Put to the Test

New president of California State University East Bay, with a campus in Concord, in on the trustees' agenda for pay of $303,660 — 10 percent more than his predecessor.

The California State University's new system for pay increases for execs is put to the test this week as the new president of CSU East Bay, with a campus off Ygnacio Valley Road in Concord, has a maximum salary up for a vote at a CSU trustee meeting.

President Leroy Morishita is on the agenda for a salary of $303,660 plus $60,000 per year for housing and a $12,000 annual car allowance, according to a piece by California Watch. The CSU trustees in January approved a new policy that limits new presidents' base pay to no more than 10 percent higher than their predecessors.
