Bolles, Parachute author, to speak at Walnut Creek Library

Anyone who has seriously undertaken a job search or prepared for an interview has encountered Richard (Dick) Bolles and his book, What Color is Your Parachute. Originally self-published in 1970 and revised yearly since then, it has become the “how to” guide for those who are in search of a job or career change. On Wednesday, September 26 at 6PM Bolles will be speaking at the Walnut Creek Library’s 2nd floor Oak View room, 1644 N. Broadway. The focus of his remarks will as always be the concerns of the job seekers. The author will introduce his 2013 edition of What Color is Your Parachute and will discuss the book with the audience. Please register at: http://www.wclibrary.org/event/parachute/ In addition to the yearly updates for “Parachute”, Bolles, an East Bay resident and active octogenarian, is increasing devoting his time and energy to writing books, maintaining a blog, and hosting JobHuntersBible.com, an online job search resource. He also contributes to an online course offered by Capella University which is based on his workshops. The success of “Parachute” is indisputable. It has been published in 12 languages, sold more than eight million copies, made the New York Times best seller list for almost 300 weeks over the years, and is considered one of the 25 books that have shaped readers’ lives throughout history by the Library of Congress Center for the Book.
