The community is invited to join Boy Scout Troop 317 for a catered spaghetti dinner fundraiser with special guest, Yau-Man Chan, one of the most popular competitors on the CBS Survivor reality television shows.

Our dinner will be held Saturday, February 12 at King's Valley Christian School, 4255 Clayton Road (off Denkinger Ct.), Concord 94521.  Doors open at 6:00 PM (advanced purchase of tickets required).

Yau-Man Chan nearly won the $1 Million prize on Survivor Fiji in 2007 competing with integrity, intelligence and skill, and made a repeat appearance on Survivor Micronesia in 2008.  He grew up in the jungles of Borneo where he was a boy scout, eventually achieving the high rank of "King" Scout, the equivalent of the Eagle Scout rank in the U.S.

Chan came to the United States at age 18 to attend college and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology-- but that's hardly a complete summary of his life and remarkable achievements.

Chan will give a talk entitled: "A Former Boy Scout's Perspective on Surviving the Elements and Reality T.V."  Please see the attached flyer (Click View Full Size) for information on how to purchase dinner tickets and speaker biography on p. 2.

Our troop fundraiser supports the purchase of shared outdoor equipment, scout and adult leader training, recognition and more.  If you are interested in attending, please call to R.S.V.P. as soon as possible so that we can give an accurate count to the caterer.

If you would like to support our scouting program but are unable to attend the dinner, donations are gratefully accepted.
