Diablo Valley Macintosh Users Group (DVMUG) Winter Workshop

An All-Day Workshop Featuring Joseph Linaschke – Photographic Storyteller, Educator, Aperture Expert

Making vacation photos your friends and family will want to see!

One of the best things about traveling is it gives you the opportunity to photograph a whole new world, and bring your experiences home for your friends and family to see. But who wants to watch boring, hours-long slide shows of crummy pictures and shaky videos? In this workshop, we’ll talk about how to make great photos and videos, how to make them even better in iPhoto, how to narrow down to the absolute best of the best, and then explore different ways to present them for your audience to enjoy.

Find out what's happening in Walnut Creekwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

In this all-day workshop, we’ll endeavor to answer these questions…

 • How do I shoot great travel photos and videos, especially scenic, monuments, food, and people (locals and my traveling partners)?

Find out what's happening in Walnut Creekwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

• What gear do I need, and what can I leave behind?

• How do I import and organize my photos and videos quickly, so I’m not wasting my evenings in front of the computer-or leaving all that work until I get home?

• Can I leave the laptop behind… and can I use my iPad?

• How do I go from the hundreds of photos I shot, to the dozens I want to share (and my friends might actually want to see)?

• Once I’ve picked the best photos, how do I make them even better?

• How do I share my photos… books, prints, slideshows, online, and more?

• Do I want to move up to Aperture, or stick with iPhoto (every attendee will get a free copy of Joseph’s eBook From iPhoto to Aperture)
