Mindfulness Meditation

Mindfulness (Insight) meditation, taken from the teachings of the Buddha, is a process of cultivating peacefulness in the mind and openness in the heart. It is learning to live in the present moment so you can ride more easily with the up and downs of your life. It is learning to experience your thoughts and feelings with equanimity, and to enrich your relationships. The evening consists of sitting meditation with instructions, a talk about some aspect of the teachings, and a guided loving kindness meditation practice.

Meditation leader Ernest Isaacs, MFT, has been practicing insight meditation since 1977 and has been leading this group for many years. He is a psychotherapist in private practice in Lafayette. For more information, contact him at ernesti@pacbell.net or (510) 526-0711. The group meets every Tuesday evening. A freewill donation ($10-$20 suggested) is much appreciated.
