King Walnut Taps Concord High Marching Band for Award
Walnut Festival Association releases list of awards from Sept. 17 twilight parade.
The regal top honor, the King Walnut Award, went to the Concord High School marching band from in downtown Walnut Creek. That was for $750.
The Walnut Festival Association announced the following awards from the Sept. 17 parade that wowed downtown Walnut Creek:
1st place band - Concord High School - $500
2nd place band - Pittsburg High School - $300
3rd place band - Ygnacio Valley High School - $200

2nd place Drum Major - Northgate High School - $150
3rd place Drum Major - Deer Valley High School - $100
1st place auxiliary - Pittsburg High School - $200

3rd place auxiliary - Ygnacio Valley High School - $100
