Lady Knights Take the Pool Today as Champions

Last weekend the Las Lomas water polo team won the Acalanes Invitational Tournament.

As the Lady Knights hop in the pool this afternoon, they will splash with the title of champions.

The Las Lomas girls water polo team won the Acalanes Invitational Tournament last weekend in a field of about 15 teams from Contra Costa, the Peninsula and Marin.

They are due to take the Las Lomas pool at 5 p.m. today vs. Monte Vista.

In the Acalanes tournament Sept. 9-10, the Lady Knights won three matches to get to the finals. There, they beat Campolindo High of Moraga 7-3. See the results here.

There are some great aqua photos of Carondelet vs. Las Lomas on the MaxPreps website here.

Thanks to water polo mom and Walnut Creek Patch reader Carol Johnson for the heads up on this accomplishment.

I hate sand in parks. Nice breeding area for lice, and a great place for ferrel cats to poop. IRead More can't wait for them to do the park at Arbolado.

How about you research the current ADA guidelines regarding surface materials for play areas?Read More Walnut Creek is simply acting to be in compliance. Not sure where you get the idea that wood chips are "much more dangerous". A reasonable overview of the current regulations can be found here: http://risk.utah.gov/newsletter/documents/playground_surfacing.pdf If you disagree with the regulations, please contact your representatives.
