Las Lomas High Receives Technology Grant

$200,000 from Jewish Community Endowment Fund will go toward computers and professional development for teachers.

The Walnut Creek Education Foundation has received a $200,000 grant to fund computer improvements at Las Lomas High.

The grant from the Jewish Community Endowment Fund will finance the purchase of equipment, grants to high school departments for subject-specific technology and release time for teacher who will serve as "tech innovators."

“Technology is only worthwhile if teachers are comfortable integrating it into their daily practice," said Principal Matt Campbell, according to a WCEF press release. "The tech innovators creatively and systematically not only integrate technology into their instructional strategies, but serve as mentors to their colleagues so they can do the same.”
