Las Lomas High Will Be Hot Rod Central Saturday

Plans are revved for the first annual Las Lomas Car Classic.

Car enthusiasts, start your engines. The first annual Las Lomas Car Classic is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 10.

The classic at Las Lomas High is a benefit for the class of  2012.

The parking lot at Las Lomas High School will be a wow-fest of vehicles ranging from hot rods to muscle cars, custom and early-model cars. The day’s activities will include an array of food, music, entertainment, awards and prizes.

Las Lomas students will compete for the most fabulously decorated car by class and prizes will be given to the best cars in the show, according to a news release from the organizers. 

The event will include exhibits from the Walnut Creek police and firefighters, AAA and automotive shop demonstrations.

The Las Lomas Car Classic will be held Saturday, Sept. 10, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Las Lomas High, 1460 South Main St. in Walnut Creek. 

General admission is $3. Students are free. 

M Service, Inc., an auto repair shop on Mount Diablo Boulevard, is a sponsor of the event.
