Shoppers will have extra time to spend at small businesses in Walnut Creek, California, starting on Black Friday.

County Connection announced Tuesday that the “Free Ride Trolley” will be leaving the station later than usual, starting on Friday, November 29, 2013.

The bus runs from the Walnut Creek BART Station to the pedestrian friendly shopping area on Broadway Plaza on “Route 4.” It runs every 15 minutes Monday through Friday, according to County Connection staff. On Saturday and Sunday, it runs every 20 minutes. The city of Walnut Creek pays for the service.

The final trolley will leave the Broadway Plaza fountain at 10:10 p.m. every day except Sunday until December 14. After that, the last bus will depart at 11:06 p.m.

The bus will not run on Christmas Day or New Years. For more precise information about routes and schedules, visit countyconnection.com.

Isn't this the Broadway Plaza employee shuttle? I'm just not seeing a lot of Nieman's shopping bags. Why isn't it paid for by the stores?

"Concord-based company to give people extra time to do holiday shopping."? Huh, the only connection with Concord I can find in the article is that the bus agency headquarters is in Concord. And they are not giving anyone anything. This headline makes no sense.
