The Star: Northgate's Zach Corby poured in a team-high 18, while showing off his buttery long-range jumper.

The Turning Point: Tollefsen's alley-oop dunk from Conner Kevorkian keyed a 19-3 scoring run to finish the third quarter and gave SRV a commanding 52-36 advantage to start the fourth quarter. The Wolves never looked back, coasting to a 12-point victory.

Bottom Line: Senior guard Jordan Guisti came out of the gate strong and led the Wolves to a dominating 17-6 first quarter, pacing the team with seven points to go with a steal and block. The Broncos were unable to keep the relentless Guisti from getting to the basket and struggled with the interior size of the SRV frontline. San Ramon held a commanding rebounding advantage, 32-17, and rode their steady defense to the victory.

——————————

playing at home against another tough preseason opponent, simply had no answer for the Wolve's dominating guard Jordan Guisti.

Gusti is an off-beat southpaw, who's slashing style is eerily reminiscent of the San Antonio Spur's Manu Ginobili. Tuesday night, Guisti like Ginobili, thrived pushing the tempo and slashing his way through the undersized Broncos defense to dominate in the paint.

Guisti's versatility was on full display where he dropped an efficient 19-points, dished out five assists, and pulled down six boards. He and point guard Conner Kevorkian combined for four steals by swarming the passing lanes, which keyed the Wolves fastbreak.

"We had a strong rebounding effort and our transition really forced (Northgate) out of their half-court game," SRV coach John Raynor said. "I think this also created some easy baskets for us."

The Wolves, however, were never able to relax, as Northgate's three-point shooting remained a potent threat.

Broncos senior captain Zach Corby was deadly accurate behind the arc, burying four threes and sparking key scoring runs. Corby's sharp shooting combined with gritty point guard Connor Jeans' solid mid-range game brought the team back from down double digits to within five, 29-24 at halftime and within one at 29-28, in the third quarter.

"(Corby) is just pure," said Guisti. "He is one of the best shooters I have ever seen and is a very tough match up."

Both Corby and Jean are coming off injuries and despite playing at a high level are not yet fully recovered. Corby managed to score 18-points on a stingy SRV defense despite playing on a back that is still on the mend after he fractured two vertebrae in the off-season.

His back court mate Jean, is coming off of a muscle strain in his back and his still trying to knock some of the rust off.

"We have had an extremely tough preseason," Corby said. "We played San Ramon Valley, Oakland Tech, Pittsburg and Castro Valley … Castro Valley is probably the best team I have ever played."

Lanky, 6-foot-9, USF-bound forward, Mark Tollefsen showed a soft touch nailing two treys on his way to 13-points but none came more emphatically than his alley-oop dunk off the assist from Kevorkian.

The dunk not only ignited a fire under San Ramon Valley Sixth Man (Wolves cheering section) but keyed a 19-3 third quarter run, which ultimately put the game out of reach.

The Broncos are looking forward to a battle of the Creek against a strong Las Lomas (5-1) outfit, which has only dropped one game to start the season.

"I definitely think we can beat . We just need to be more competitive," finished Cobry.
