Nia (Non-impact dance fitness)

*No classes on Sept. 3 or Sept. 10 -- Kathy is in Paris!*

Drawing from the dance arts, martial arts and healing arts, Nia empowers people of all shapes and sizes by connecting the body, mind, emotions and spirit. Kathy Bate, a licensed brown belt Nia instructor, leads the class in this somatic movement practice with moves that heal and energize the main areas of the body: the base, the core and the upper extremities. By choosing from three levels of intensity, participants can adjust their practice to individual needs and abilities.

Classes are held in the large Community Room, where students are invited to dance barefoot if they are able. Bring a mat for the yoga-related movements that typically end the class. Drops-ins welcome. Love offering requested.
