History of the Walnut Festival Run
The Walnut Festival Run has a proud tradition in Walnut Creek. Originally started in the early 1950's, it was moved in the early 1970's when Heather Farms Park was built.
In the early 2000's, as closing Ygnacio Valley Road and Treat Boulevard became more difficult, the run was temporarily suspended.

Turning around, heading north on Broadway until making a left on Newell, a right back onto Main Street followed by either:
- 5k distance - a right onto Broadway Plaza for the finish, or
- 10k distance - continues straight on Main St. to complete a second loop.
