High School Football Playoffs: Clayton Valley Charter Crushes Las Lomas

Clayton Valley will next play the winner of Saturday night's game between Miramonte High and Northgate High

Las Lomas High's football season ended with a 59-13 thumping at the hands of Clayton Valley Charter in the North Coast Section Division II playoffs on Friday night.

The seventh seeded Knights were only trailing 29-13 at halftime, but they didn't score in the second half against the Eagles' defense.

Clayton Valley, the second seed in the tournament, built up its lead to 45-13 by the end of the third quarter and coasted from there.

Las Lomas finishes the season with a 7-5 record.

In the semifinal round at home next Friday, Clayton Valley, which is now 11-1, will play the winner of Saturday night's game between third seeded Miramonte High and sixth ranked Northgate High.

That game starts at 7 p.m. at the Matadors' field in Orinda. Both teams are 9-2 on the season.
