High School Water Polo Playoffs: Walnut Creek Teams Lose In The Semifinals

Northgate, Las Lomas squads can't get past higher seeds to advance to the finals

Three Walnut Creek high school water polo teams tried but failed Wednesday to make it to the finals of the North Coast Section playoffs.

In the boys Division I competition, fourth seeded Las Lomas High lost to top-ranked Miramonte High, 11-4.

Las Lomas finishes its season with a 16-10 record.

In the boys Division II competition, fifth-seeded Northgate High was edged by top-ranked Alhambra High, 4-3.

Northgate ends the season with a 15-13 mark.

In the girls Division I tournament, third-ranked Las Lomas High was defeated by second-seeded Monte Vista High, 12-4.

Las Lomas finishes 18-9 for this season.
