Chelsea Chenault, 17, of Walnut Creek, has qualified to represent the U.S. in the next big meet following the Summer Olympics in London.
The short course world championships are scheduled for Istanbul, Turkey, in December. Chenault qualified in the 4x200 freestyle relay.
Chenault is in the class of 2013 at Carondelet High School in Concord. She started swimming when she was six, according to her profile on USA Swimming, and she sometimes goes by "C-Unit." She has two yellow Labs, Leo and Lady.
