Water Polo Playoffs: Northgate High Girls Win Easily In First Round Match

Another slate of games for Northgate and Las Lomas teams are scheduled for Thursday and Saturday

Northgate High's girls water polo team advanced to the second round in the North Coast Section Division II playoffs by defeating 11th-seeded San Marin High, 14-7, on Wednesday.

The sixth-seeded Broncos, who are now 14-13 on the season, will play third-ranked Sir Frances Drake High on Saturday.

In the girls Division I tournamentLas Lomas High is seeded third.

The Knights play at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Acalanes High against 14th ranked Newark Memorial High.

Las Lomas is 16-8 this season while Newark is 12-11.

In the boys Division I competitionLas Lomas High is seeded fourth.

The Knights play at 6:45 p.m. Thursday at Acalanes High against 13th ranked Heritage High.

Las Lomas is 14-9 this season while Heritage is 16-8.

In the boys Division II competition, Northgate High is ranked fifth.

The Broncos have a first round bye and play their initial game on Saturday against fourth seeded Tamalpais High.

Northgate is 14-12 on the season while Tamalpais is 17-9.
