A Musical Fourth of July

The Walnut Creek Concert Band entertained an Independence Day crowd with patriotic songs

A red, white and blue crowd was treated to an hour of patriotic music in celebration of Independence Day on Wednesday evening.

The Walnut Creek Concert Band played from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. before more than 100 people at the gazebo in Civic Park.

The band began the performance with the Star Spangled Banner and ended with Stars and Stripes Forever.

Mayor Bob Simmons led the band on the final song.

Many people arrived early and enjoyed a picnic on the grass before the band started playing.
