Contra Costa County Fair Tickets Now on Sale

Here comes the sun. The Contra Costa County Fair wants to shine along with it.

The first weekends of summer at the fairgrounds in Antioch promise to be packed with carnival rides, music, food and blue ribbons for the most perfect pigs.

The 2012 concert schedule features something for almost every musical taste, including nerdy '80s cover bands, Motown, faux Eric Claptons and Bon Jovis, Latino R&B and a full-blown fiesta.

Everyone gets in for free from noon until 3 p.m. on opening day, Thursday, May 31. Seniors and those with military I.D. are free all day long. Kids under 12 go free on Friday, June 1.

Child, 12 and under (regular price $5): $4

Senior, 62 and better (regular price $5): $4

Carnival wristband for unlimited rides (regular price $20): $15

Package A, good for two adult admissions and two unlimited ride wristbands (regular price $56): $44
