Olympics: U.S. Synchronized Swimmers in 10th

Mariya Koroleva of Concord, a former Walnut Creek Aquanut, and her teammate Mary Killman will compete in free routine on Monday

Mariya Koroleva, 22, of Concord and her teammate, Mary Killman of Texas, are in 10th place after the first round of competition in synchronized swimming at the 2012 London Olympics.

The pair will perform in the free routine portion of the women's duets competition on Monday. Koroleva is a Walnut Creek Aquanut.

Twenty-four teams competed on Sunday in the technical routine. Koroleva and Killman tallied a score of 87.900. The Russian team of Svetlana Romashina and Natalia Ishchenko is in first place with a score of 98.200.

The finalists will compete on Tuesday in the medals round.
