Well apparently I've been banned as trouble maker - they didn't care for my videos about homelessRead More people being killed in Walnut Creek. The facts there are many that have been hit but lets not stop in Walnut Creek, please add Concord, Antioch, Pittsburg, Martinez and even one last night in Berkeley - drive by shooting of a woman riding a bicycle. We'll learn soon . Well at least the Walnut Creek Police are not riding the homeless endlessly.

@JB I talked to a member of the WCPD and he told me that this year is the first without theRead More motorcycle cops in the parade due to budget cuts. Sad to report indeed.

I have mixed feelings on this. It is good that the city promotes volunteering! It is not good, asRead More OMTWF points out, that WC politicians routinely tap into and hijack long-standing COMMUNITY effort by planting a city flag on it, much as they revise WC history to serve political agenda and entitlement. There's a reason why WC history has been reduced to 1903 farmhouse living at Shadelands. Here's the secret: The stars of WC history ARE NOT a handful of the locally ignorant and indifferent at City Hall -- the stars are We The People. We're an American operation -- not just an ignorant, ABAG and commercially deferent, off-shoot of the Chamber of Commerce. I'm less conflicted by Mr. Brittain's assertion that he doesn't see a BIASED connection between Library Cindy and Library Bob!!! If there ever was an appreciation for scientific reason, it's long-gone.

Still anonymous OMTWF, Your reference to an obsolete City Council agenda item from 2009 isRead More irrelevant. A similar measure is adopted after each City Council election. It puzzles me why an effort to give NEW volunteers an opportunity to explore possibilities is such an insult to you. I guess that our thought processes work rather differently indeed.

Bob B, I *TOTALLY* understand why you are defending Silva's actionsRead More http://walnutcreek.granicus.com/MetaViewer.php?view_id=2&clip_id=631&meta_id=25098 By the way, I may have an issue with October 6 - I guess the volunteer time I happily do the rest of the year does not count.

I would LOVE to donate - used to 4x a year until I lived in Europe for a while. Now the Red CrossRead More doesn't want my blood because they think I might have mad cow disease. It's a shame too - I've got the good old, common stuff that they always run low on. When is the Red Cross going to change their rules requiring people living outside the country for a while?

With all the interest in this vampire stuff the REd Cross should have a "Twilight" Drive.Read More Shirtless hunky male vamps for female donors, toothy vampirellas for the guys.
