Hi, I'm Erin. I'm a senior Communications major at Sonoma State University and the Editor in Chief of its award-winning newspaper, The STAR.  I'm a transplant from Southern California, specifically the San Fernando Valley, and I can't decide whether I love the exciting suburban life of the valley or the beautiful scenery and relaxing atmosphere of Rohnert Park better.

When I'm not in class or working I try to go on as many "adventures" as I can. I just want to get out and try new things; the warm weather makes me want to spend even more time outdoors.  As a teenager, I played softball for eight years and my team placed fourth in the Triple Crown World Series. I've played nearly every position on the field but I really love first base. My dad was my coach through seven of those years and because of it he and I have become really close.

I knew I wanted to be a reporter in the eighth grade and began studying the year after. Since then, I have never taken a break from it and have worked my way up to Editor in Chief of both my high school and college paper. I've written press releases for Sonoma State, articles in Sonoma Insights and now writing for Patch. I also love design, and hope that one day I can work as an editor for a magazine.
