I too received a call from the Chamber with leader Jay Hoyer's voice urging me to support Silva for city council.

Caller ID showed that this call came in from "Voter Contact" at 714-551-9570 at 6:47 pm on Friday evening.

No doubt this is where the hefty donation of $15,000 from BRE (developer of the BART transit village) was used along with the Chamber mailer that appeared in the mailbox last week.

It is always amazing to me how WALPAC, the political action committee of the Chamber, gets away with raising money only every two years in the latter part of council campaigns and nobody questions them.

And yet the very same people who justify WALPAC's intrusion into local campaigns, albeit too late for anyone to publicly complain, somehow have the nerve to criticize the POA who have been very open and above board with their campaign activities. Go figure.
