Denica's Opens New Restaurant In Walnut Creek

The Dublin-based, family-owned restaurant started serving breakfast and lunch last week

There's a new place to get breakfast or lunch in eastern Walnut Creek.

Denica's opened its new restaurant last Thursday in the Citrus Shopping Center at the corner of Oak Grove Road and Citrus Avenue.

The restaurant is in the space that used to house a Carl's Jr. franchise. The fast-food eatery closed in January.

Denica's is owned by James and Denica Freitas. They've had a restaurant in Dublin since 2000.

The Walnut Creek restaurant is open from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. seven days a week.

The restaurant features all day breakfast, which includes omelettes, crepes, pancakes, waffles and cinnamon rolls.

The lunch menu includes sandwiches, burritos, salads, soups and vegetarian selections. For dessert, there is an entire glass case of cookies.

Prices range from $6.99 to $12.99 for most entrees.

There is some outdoor seating as well as a redesigned interior.

Diane Nowlain, the general manager for the Walnut Creek Denica's, said business has been great so far.

She said the location is perfect with some customers and some employees able to walk to the restaurant.
