Police Log: Stolen Cars, Stolen Bikes, Stolen Identities

7:05am – A car was reported stolen on the 2600 block of Ross Place.
9:14am – On the 1600 block of N. California Blvd., a car was stolen from the gated underground garage. A briefcase was stolen from the car next to the stolen car. ‘ 10:12am – A store on the 1300 block of Newell Ave. was broken into and cash was stolen. The thieves got in through a vent in the roof.
10:29am – A fight broke out in the parking lot of the 1100 block of Civic Dr. According to witnesses, someone tried to get into the wrong car, thinking it belonged to his friend. Both parties eventually calmed down and peace was restored.
11:20am – A red mountain bike was found on the 2700 block of Walnut Blvd. under the bridge at the Brasero entrance.
11:45am – Two cyclists collided on the bike trial near the intersection of Mt. Diablo Blvd. and Mt. Pisgah Rd.
8:41pm – A woman was reportedly very intoxicated as she attempted to leave an establishment on the 1500 block of Olympic Blvd. and get to her car. The bouncer informed her that he would not give her the keys, so she called a cab. A few minutes later, however, the cab returned with the woman, who was determined to drive. Before she could go anywhere, however, police arrived and examined her before arresting her on suspicion of drunk driving.
11:30pm – A man was arrested on suspicion of stealing a bike on the 2300 block of N. Main St.

10:27am – A pair of smash-and-grabs took place on the 2800 block of N. Main St. within ten minutes of each other. The first resulted in no reported loss; a purse and wallet were taken in the second one, and credit cards used all over town. Please keep your money and your wallets and purses with you, or lock them in the trunk. 1:44pm – An iPhone was reported stolen on the 2800 block of N. Main St. It was reported to be for sale at a flea market in Oakland.
