Walnut Creek Chamber & Visitors Bureau 30th Annual Art & Wine Festival

{RAIN -or- SHINE} Heather Farm Park in Walnut Creek sizzles with the sights and sounds of New Orleans at the 30th Annual Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau Art & Wine Festival,  Saturday & Sunday, June 4 & 5. Capturing the spirit of Mardi Gras, Heather Farm Park will kick-off summer fun under Walnut Creek’s sunny skies.  

Distinguished by its spacious park setting and family-friendly activities, the popular Walnut Creek Chamber Art & Wine Festival, recognized by the Contra Costa Times as the East Bay’s Best Outdoor Festival, runs Saturday, June 4, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, June 5, 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Festival admission is free, making the centrally located Walnut Creek Chamber Art & Wine Festival a fun and travel-friendly weekend. 

Art & Wine 2011 features top-quality, non-stop local and Bay Area music and entertainment for the entire family, thousands of distinctive hand-made crafts and works of art from more than 200 artisans, award-winning local and regional wines and microbrews, ethnic and traditional festival food, the Premium Wine Tent, the crazy Grape Stomp Competition (first uncorked in 1981), and the expanded Children’s Area.  New to the festival this year are home brewing and wine making demonstrations; fortune telling; stunt bike demonstrations; a horse drawn carriage and Zumba dancing.

Appearing atop two fully-equipped sound stages will be Finding Stella, The Houserockers, East Bay Mudd, Lee Waterman, LUCE, The Groove Kings, Foothill Middle School Band, Mersey Beach, Daniel Castro and Spinout. 

Souvenir Art & Wine 2011 wine and beer tasting glasses can be purchased with tasting tickets along the main midway and around the festival grounds. Visitors to the festival's signature Premium Wine Tent  can sample select vintage and boutique wines not offered on the main midway, while enjoying the Cajun, New Orleans Blues, and R&B vocal talents of Jack Pollard’s Party of Two.

Youngsters of all ages will enjoy the very busy Children’s Area, with kid-friendly inflatable jumpies, challenging 25-foot rock climbing wall, giant slide, laser tag and hamster balls will offer new fun. Also, the Children's Area will include a very active entertainment stage including Poison Apple Productions, Dillion Moore Academy of Irish Dance, Walnut Creek Intermediate School Glee Club, Encore Gymnastics, Diablo Ballet, and more.

Paid vehicle parking and a free bicycle parking lot are available on site; a free continuous shuttle is available at park & ride locations originating at nearby Shadelands Business Park. 

Heather Farm Park is located at San Carlos Drive and Ygnacio Valley Road in Walnut Creek. The community jewel boasts 102 lush acres including nature ponds, picnic areas, children’s playgrounds, and foot and bike paths with connections to the Iron Horse Trail.
