John Lennon Art Coming to Walnut Creek for Contra Costa & Solano Food Bank Fundraiser

Imagine there's no hunger ...

Continuing the Lennon legacy of peace and love, Yoko Ono and Legacy Productions are presenting The Artwork of John Lennon in downtown Walnut Creek for Mother’s Day weekend -- May 9 to 11 -- to benefit the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano.

Few people know that John did not pick up a guitar for five of the last seven years of his life, instead channelling his philosophy through his drawings.

These drawings, along with earlier sketches and song lyrics make up the nearly  100 limited edition lithographs, serigraphs and copper etchings that will be on display and available for purchase.

Lennon left behind a potent message for future generations, and these exhibits have not only been a forum to view John as an artist, but also as a venue to raise funds and awareness for countless local charities.

This exhibit at 1531 Locust Street in Walnut Creek, next to Mr. Lucky's Bar & Grill, is a food bank fundraiser that will be on display May 9 noon to 8 p.m., May 10 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on May 11 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

A $3 at-the-door donation is suggested for viewers.
