Diablo Theatre Company Offers Behind-the-Scenes Look At Upcoming Hit Musical "Drowsy Chaperone"

The preview will demonstrate to musical theater fans how this beloved regional company puts on a show.

The Diablo Theatre Company is inviting current and future patrons to a free hour-long preview of its next musical, The Drowsy Chaperone, at Thursday at the  company’s Firehouse headquarters in Pleasant Hill.

The show opens at the Lesher Center for the Arts Feb. 11. The preview at 7 p.m. Thursday will include performances by cast members Dan LeGate, who plays the lover in the show, and Leanne Borghesi, who portrays the chaperone.

Daren A. C. Carollo, the artistic director for the Diablo Theatre Company, is directing the show. Joining the performers, he and musical director G. Scott Lacy will discuss how they bring musical comedy to life on stage. Questions from the audience will be welcomed.

“It’s an opportunity to learn more about the funniest musical you’ve never heard of and why you need to see it,” says Carollo.

The preview will take place at DTC's headquarters, 1948 Oak Park Blvd.,Pleasant Hill. Because of limited seating, reservations are required and may be made by Jan. 18 at 925-262-2101 or by email to diane@diablotheatre.org. Emails should include the name of each attendee and a phone number.

The Drowsy Chaperone opens Feb. 11 for 13 performances through March 5 at the Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek.
