Discount Ticket Offer For Lesher Shows

'Pick 3 to see' offers bargains for plays, ballets and concerts through June.

Two local arts organizations have a deal for the new year that will allow people a way to sample the variety of cultural offerings in the winter and spring season.

It's 'Pick 3 to see!'

For just $25 a ticket, arts lovers can buy tickets to three select performance of works by the cornerstone producing companies between January and June. The Lesher Center makes this offering in conjunction with the . It means savings of up to 40 percent for select plays, musicals, ballet and classical music for Friday and Saturday night shows.

The companies participating in this performance sampler are: Center REPertory Company, the in-house theater company at the Lesher Center: Diablo Theatre Company; Contra Costa Musical Theatre Company: Company C Contemporary Ballet; Smuin Ballet: and California Symphony.

  • Company C Contemporary Ballet’s WINTER PROGRAM, January 20, 8 p.m. Bursting with versatility, led by Peter Anastos’ romance-filled Footage, Alexandre Proia’s meditatively lush World to Come, David Grenke’s deeply emotional Vespers, and Charles Anderson’s powerfully athletic Akimbo.
  • ARMS AND THE MAN, January 27, 8 p.m. Presented by Center REPertory Company. A charming tale of romance going awry with unexpected turns, mistaken identities and of course, George Bernard Shaw’s always surprising opinions – on war and marriage and everything else!
  • Smuin Ballet’s WINTER PROGRAM, February 3, 8 p.m. Turn up the heat with Tango Palace, indulge in the sensual beauty of Eternal Idol, immerse yourself in the powerful Stabat Mater and thrill to Amy Seiwert’s World Premiere.
  • LEGALLY BLONDE: THE MUSICAL, Feb. 11, 8 p.m. Presented by Diablo Theatre Company. Elle Woods does not take “no” for an answer. When her boyfriend dumps her, she puts down the credit card, heads to Harvard Law School and finds out that being true to oneself never goes out of style.
  • SUNSET BOULEVARD, March 16, 8 p.m. Presented by Contra Costa Musical Theatre. Silent movie star Norma Desmond longs for a return to the big screen. When she meets Joe Gillis, their volatile relationship leads to an unforeseen and tragic conclusion.
  • RUMORS March 30, 8 p.m. Presented by Center REPertory Company. The host has injured himself, his wife is missing and four couples are about to experience a severe attack of farce. As the rumors escalate, so do the laughs.
  • LARA ST. JOHN AND BEETHOVEN’S NINTH! May 5, 7:30 p.m. Presented by California Symphony. The symphony’s 25th Anniversary Season comes to a glorious close with international star Lara St. John and the San Francisco Symphony’s Donato Cabrera. Come hear the drama and beauty of Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto. Maestro Donato Cabrera leads the Symphony and chorus in Beethoven’s epic Ninth Symphony. The concert begins with a world premiere by the symphony’s Young American Composer in Residence.
  • XANADU, May 18, 8 p.m. Presented by Center REPertory Company. Based on the legendary cult film with Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly, and packed with chart-topping hits, this is inspired lunacy at its most buoyant and hilarious.
  • Company C Contemporary Ballet’s SPRING PROGRAM May 25, 8 p.m.  Ranging from eclectic to electrifying, with Gregory Dawson’s penetrating and percussive Which Light in the Sky Is Us, Peter Anastos’ romantic Footage, and Charles Anderson’s athletic Song Remains the Same set to bluegrass covers of Led Zeppelin songs and his haunting pas de deux, Key to Songs.
