John Muir's Birthday & Earth Day Celebration

  • Where/When: ; Saturday, 10 a.m. –4 p.m.
  • Why Go: Come celebrate the legendary naturalist and founder of the Sierra Club at this family event. The celebration will feature music, a silent auction, self-guided tours of the 1882 Victorian Muir home and grounds, nature walks and National Park Service Junior Ranger activities.
  • Price: Free

Celebrate Mama

  • Where/When: ; Sunday, 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. 
  • Why Go: Celebrate Mama offers so much! Anyone can find the perfect gift when shopping the 80-plus vendors. Moms can enjoy pampering, wine, food, and live music. The whole family will love the free activities: dance performances, bounce houses, face painting, balloon twister and much more.
  • Price: Free

Steppingstones Playshops for Children

  • Where/When: Ruth Bancroft Gardens; Saturday; 9:30 a.m.-noon for ages 8-11; 2-4:30 p.m. for ages 12-14.
  • Why Go: Children will make a collage journal from home-made paper and explore nature at Ruth Bancroft Gardens.
  • Price: $25, plus $10 materials fee

Book sale

  • Where/When: ; Saturday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
  • Why Go: The Friends of the Ygnacio Valley Library will host a book sale at the Thurman G. Casey Memorial Library. Fill a bag with books (bags will be provided) and take home all that will fit for just $3.
  • Price: Free

Earth Day is Everyday!

  • Where/When: Sports Basement; Sunday, 1–4 p.m. 
  • Why Go: Join Sports Basement for some green thumb-ing action! It will have 20-plus eco-friendly vendors, live music, a DJ, raffles, giveaways, a kids' zone, a resource center, and a recycle center for clothes, shoes, bike tires and more. It also will welcome new neighbor Fresh and Easy Neighborhood Market.
