Downtown Taqueria To Reopen With New Equipment

The next generation takes over at the Walnut Creek Taqueria on Locust Street.

The remodeling has gone on a little longer than anticipated, but the Walnut Creek Taqueria at 1359 Locust St. will reopen soon.

Owner Miguel Velasco said will have a soft opening this week and a grand re-opening next week.

The remodeling includes new equipment, new kitchen and four new television screens for the sports bar crowd. The new equipment means the food will be 100 percent fresh, Velasco said.

The change involves the next generation taking over for the restaurant that has been in business since 1977.
