Ice-Making Snafu Postpones WC Rink Opening
Saturday children's winter festival at Civic Park is postponed.
The grand opening of the Walnut Creek rink is on ice … er … on hold.
This ices plans for the Children's Winter Festival on Saturday at Civic Park.
"A challenge with our new ice making system arose," the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau reported in a email. "Our rink providers are working around the clock to resolve this as soon as possible." The chamber apologized for any inconvenience.
The chamber says to watch the rink Facebook page for updates such as a new opening date.
The rink is due to be open through Jan. 16.
