Sprouts (and Other Produce): Whole Foods Walnut Creek, Part Two

New store is planned for the corner of Ygnacio Valley Rd. and Oak Grove Rd.

Walnut Creek could be renamed Foodieville. There are plenty of high-end eateries around town, but there are also lots of folks who know their way around a gourmet kitchen. And those people don't shop for food at 7-Eleven (not that there's anything wrong with that).

We have a Sprouts Farmers Market , Lunardi's, and the existing Whole Foods on Newell Ave.

But according to the Contra Costa Times, the store some lovingly call "Whole Paycheck" for it's less-than-bargain prices will open a new store in the Encino Shopping Center at the corner of Ygnacio Valley Rd. and Oak Grove Rd. The store will replace the former Safeway, which is moving across the street.

The new Walnut Creek Whole Foods store is part of a major expansion now underway. A new store is also opening soon in Dublin.
