Walnut Creek alums open Blow Dry Bar!

Ready, set, go! Local gals open new Blow Dry Bar on N. California!

Best friends since the 3rd grade, Alyson Walsh and Leida Ebrahimi will continue their life long friendship with the opening of a Blow Dry Bar, bdb Studio, in downtown Walnut Creek.  This new hair styling concept is the first to open in Walnut Creek and is located at 1639 N. California Blvd. in the Mercer Building Retail Shops.  The store will host a Grand Opening gathering on Thursday, April 19th from 4:00-8:00pm

Aly and Leida are local gals.  They both attended Murwood Elementary School, Walnut Creek Intermediate and Las Lomas High School.  During their junior and senior years, the girls attended cosmetology school each afternoon where they both received their cosmetology licenses.  The girls temporarily parted ways while attending college, but returned to Walnut Creek to fulfill their dream of opening a business together.

bdb Studio is a unique concept in hair styling, focusing on blow-dries, up-dos, head massages and makeup application (there is no hair cutting or coloring). Prices start at $35.

Please stop by to say hello, see the studio, and possibly book your first appointment!  bdb will be open for business on Friday, April 20th. For more information please call (925) 939-1639 or visit www.bdbstudio.com

I hate sand in parks. Nice breeding area for lice, and a great place for ferrel cats to poop. IRead More can't wait for them to do the park at Arbolado.

How about you research the current ADA guidelines regarding surface materials for play areas?Read More Walnut Creek is simply acting to be in compliance. Not sure where you get the idea that wood chips are "much more dangerous". A reasonable overview of the current regulations can be found here: http://risk.utah.gov/newsletter/documents/playground_surfacing.pdf If you disagree with the regulations, please contact your representatives.
