A jockey died Thursday during a race at the Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton, according to a report from the Contra Costa Times.

Jorge Herrera, 33, was thrown from his mount in the eighth race, according to Dennis Miller. A report on the horse racing sight bloodhorse.com said Herrera died from massive head injuries after falling from the horse Morito.
