Where In Walnut Creek?

Do you know where this photo was taken? Tell us in the comments.

You know how it is -- you live or work somewhere, you go by various things every day and you think you know where they are. But sometimes you see a photograph of something and you know you've seen it lots of times, but you just can't summon up where.

Is that the case here, or is this an easy call? If you know the locale of this photograph, say so in the comments. Be the first, and win bragging rights for a week.

Wow! I drive past it everyday but never paid attention to it. But my hubby knew it right away.

LOVE the sculpture. We are so lucky to live in a city that supports the arts!

Actually, Jane, this piece dates to the 1960s -- before we had art nuts posing as government for art "support". "Support" is the operative word -- as opposed to the inane economic rhetoric City Hall sells the public. You can date the work by the subject matter. It is a happy family with a decent-sized dog. A more recent offering would showcase two affluent octogenarians and their chihuahua. They have to have a chihuahua, of course, because it is the only breed that fits their urban, condominium lifestyle in the new art community along YV Rd. Speaking of art nuts, did you know that the past DRAA director, Peggy White, is aspiring to join the DBA board? Doesn't know much about WC or commercial RE, beyond she likes to see them "support" the arts... I'm so enthused by such art infiltration of everything from City Hall to Neiman Marcus promotion, I'm going to stop going to DBA meetings, withdraw offers to other Commercial Lane property owners to improve the area, and resist the further DBA funding mechanisms currently proposed. In short, I don't "support" such "leadership." Such parasitic appointments only serve to distort doing what is best for all, in favor of a few who really like to get clay between their fingers. "Walnut Creek" whatever should be about Walnut Creek, not just a few people's art passion -- particularly in regards to city spending. The WC Journal should rename itself Art Notes, to reflect that it isn't about Walnut Creek either, just art.

I love the rectangle with four legs in front of Maria, Maria. Does anyone remember the dog having a head?
